Coffee Break

Well, as you must have guessed because I haven’t been in here for ages, I’m very busy right now with revisions for my latest submission, as well as trying to keep the fire burning beneath the book I was writing while waiting for my editor to get back to me on the other!

It has been a strange old year for me. My writing schedule was thrown out of the window when my husband suddenly took ill. Trying to write anything worthy while my emotions were being gobbled up by anxiety for him was a pretty useless exercise. So I gave myself some time off until he was safely out of hospital and well on the mend. Open heart surgery is scary, even if the surgeons do dare to call it routine. It was not routine for us! We became quite expert in the different kinds of replacement valve’s there are to choose from and in the workings of the heart itself, (though we would’ve been happier to remain totally in the dark).

The DH is absolutely fine now, thank goodness, heart pumping blood – check – surgery wounds all healed up —check—and the snow outside has all gone! (we were snowed in for six weeks over Christmas) Summer has arrived with a wonderful heat wave and I’ve no excuses left not to work like mad!
